Links to other Model Railway related sites as recommended by www.enginewood.co.uk This link will take you to the site of Simon Castens and his Titfield Thunderbolt Bookshop. Well worth a look, Simon has most railway titles in stock or can easily get hold of those he hasn't. Look out particularly for his interesting history of the making of the Titfield Thunderbolt film - a must for all fans! I am a great fan of www.rmweb.co.uk , the UK's leading interactive model railway forum in my view, and have posted a number of layout and workbench-related threads. This site is to be recommended for the huge potential for learning, research and general friendly banter. It's creator is Andy York, who besides being a nice gent is a very good modeller. This link will take you to Chris Nevard's excellent Model Railway site. Check out his various layouts, such as Cement Quay, based on a modern day cement terminal, served by Freightliner Class 66s and Catcott Burtle, an S&D Highbridge branch 'might have been', (which we one day hope to link up to Bleakhouse Road at an exhibition somewhere!) The official website of the Scalefour Society. Loads of interesting stuff here! Look out for the D.R.A.G. blog! The website of the Somerset & Dorset Railway Museum Trust, a very interesting and well laid out site, thanks to Webmaster Chris Nevard. It's full of interesting items of information on the S&D, past and present. '3218.co.uk' - this site contains a large number of historical railway images from 1947 to the present and has an interesting and varied selection on the S&D. Look for the photos of the 63XX diesel hydraulic on an Inspection Special at Glastonbury. Billed as 'the ACE site for historical information on the railways of the South West of England, this is Chris Osment's extensive site on numerous interesting topics. Chris is a very knowledgeable signalling expert and this site is fascinating. He very kindly re-signalled Engine Wood for me, albeit on paper and after I had built the layout! Oh well, one day perhaps! A page on S&D signalling by Chris Osment, but in fact part of the much larger 'signalbox' site by John Hinson, again well worth spending a lot of time in. Kevin Clapcott's interesting site containing a lot of information on the S&D. This is the link to the S&D Webring, also run by Chris Nevard. This takes you to the website of the Taunton Model Railway Group, who are building what I would call the ultimate 4mm scale S&D model - Bath Green Park. The research, care and workmanship that is going into this project is truely mind-boggling. Not only is the website well worth a visit, I would heartily recommend a visit 'in person' to their premises at Bishops Lydeard on the West Somerset Railway. Do check for opening times first. You could even buy your own set of etchings now for the Green Park station roof, the River Avon girder bridge and various other structures, including signals from Alan Gibson. I'm not sure of the availability of these now that the company has changed hands, so I would recommend checking out the Alan Gibson website or catalogue. The official web site of the West Somerset Railway, the longest 'heritage' railway in the UK and, in my opinion, the best. The official website of Vintage Trains, based in Tysley - an excellent bunch of people. This is the P4 Made Easy site created by Lisa Milne in Australia, where she systematically debunks a whole load of myths about 'how hard' P4 modelling is supposed to be. It isn't that difficult at all, and Lisa's site is a good place to start finding out! Lisa is also a keen S&D modeller.
